Arnold "Big Arnold" Scherer, 56, passed away on Jan. 1, 2012 at his residence after a long illness.

He was a veteran with the U.S. Navy. A native of New Orleans, he had lived in St. Charles Parish for 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Rose Silvestri Scherer, two children, Arnold "Little Arnold" Silvestri Jr. and Melissa Scherer Combs, two grandchildren, Brenden Silvestri and Jordan Combs, five siblings, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Scherer and Inez Brockoff.

Services were held Jan. 7 at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating. Family and friends are invited to send their condolences at www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.
