He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Lilly Candies, father of Timothy "Tim" Candies (wife Kim), Garrett Candies (wife Pam), Darid Candies (wife Shannon) and Dovlynn Candies (husband Bob); son of the late James "Jimmy" Candies Sr. and Doris St. Amant Candies, and brother of Marshall Candies and the late Elnora Candies Cornwell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was a native of Des Allemands and resident of Amite.
Services were held on Jan. 5, 2012 at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland with interment at Mennonite Cemetery in Des Allemands. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
