A 25-year-old Boutte man was charged with attempted second-degree murder after he blasted another man in the face with a 12-gauge shotgun, say cops.

Arrested was Chris LaRouse, of 428 Sharon Street. He reportedly told St. Charles Parish sheriff's deputies that he fired the weapon on Oct. 8 because the victim cussed at him and threatened him. The shooting took place at a private residence.
The unidentified victim suffered birdshot wounds to the face and shoulder and was taken to Elmwood Charity Medical Center for treatment.
