Two weeks ago Destrehan High School defensive tackle Marrick Charles decided that he would give his verbal commitment to attend the University of Houston. This weekend his teammate, defensive end Bryan Singleton, has also decided to verbally commit to the same school

The 6’4, 250-pound defensive end committed to the Cougars this weekend after he was heavily pursued by Arkansas, Ole Miss, SMU and Louisiana Tech.

Singleton’s only visit to the Houston campus was this summer when he attended the Nike Camp.

"I really liked what I saw when I got on the campus for the Nike camp," Singleton said. "I liked the facilities and how the campus was laid out. I spoke to Coach Jason Phillips, who recruits Louisiana, and he was real excited to hear from me last week. My sister lives about 20 minutes from Houston, so I know that I can call her if I need anything while at school."
