DHS graduate named to LSU homecoming court
Destrehan High graduate Macy Terrebonne was selected to be a member of the 2011 Louisiana State University Homecoming Court. Terrebonne is the daughter of Brett and Mona Terrebonne of Destrehan.
She is a 2010 graduate of DHS and is majoring in Math with a concentration in Secondary Education. She and her escort, Tuan Tran of New Iberia, represented the sophomore class.
Art teacher honored
Congratulations to Hahnville High School Art Teacher Kristie Gough, who was named Outstanding National Art Honor Society Sponsor at the Louisiana Art Education Association Fall 2011 Conference.
Local NOCCA singers place in regional competition
Vivian Buchanan of Destrehan High and Kathleen Millet of St. Charles Catholic placed at the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing Southern Regional Competition recently held at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. Buchanan, of St. Rose, placed 2nd in the high school division. Millet, of LaPlace, placed 1st in the high school division. Both are students at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
