Carter

Bessie S. Carter, 83, passed away on Nov. 14, 2011 at Luling Living Center in Luling. She was the daughter of the late Louise Dorsey and Solomon Sumler, mother of Sylvia Johnson, and sister of Edwina Marsh, Louise Rogers, Alfred and Alvin Sumler, Lawerence Gibson, the late Mary Sumler, Martha Harris, Solomon Sumler Jr. and Isaac Sumler. She is also survived by two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling.

Funeral services were held at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Boutte on Nov. 18 with Rev. Robert Pardo, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Boutte.

Services were under the direction of Robottom Mortuary.
