Gilles
Willietta Bennett Evans Sampson Gilles entered eternal rest on Nov. 13, 2011. She was a retired St. Charles Parish teacher. Willetta leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Marcel Gilles, daughter, Ivy Evans Ivey, son-in-law, Terry Ivey, adopted son, Perry Breaux, adopted daughter, Varlencia Sumlin, and grandchildren: Gary Jr., Brandon and Jessica Sampson, Arrianne Bowie, and Johnny Henry. She also leaves, her devoted niece, Ingrid Adams, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Bennett III and Gladys Rousseau Bennett, her grandson, Demond Sampson, and her beloved sister, Marion Joseph.
Services were held on Nov. 19 at Bell Baptist Church in Luling with interment following in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were entrusted to Dennis Mortuary, Dignified Personal Services, of New Orleans.
