James J. "Bud" Sandolph
James J. Sandolph "Bud," 51, passed away on Nov. 3, 2011 at his home in Boutte.
He was the son of the late Martha Mae Williams and Joseph Sandolph, husband of Brenda Jenkins Sandolph, father of Christine Sims and Tampler Ingram, brother of Pat Williams, Shirley Hall, Barbara, Katherine, Joseph, and Janice Sandolph; and father-in-law of Lionel Sims and Sammy Ingram Sr. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a native and resident of Boutte. Services were held at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Boutte on Nov. 11, 2011 with Rev. Robert Pardo, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Mount Airy Memorial Park Cemetery in Boutte. Services were by Robottom.

Superintendent steps down to get down - 520 views
Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
