HHS vs. DHS is battle of experience vs. youth

Last year, Hahnville destroyed Destrehan 48-10, giving the Tigers their first win over their rivals since 2004. This year, Hahnville is once again picked by many to knock off the Wildcats, mainly due to the experience the Tigers field at almost every position.

Sophomore running back Lou Donovan Wells drags a Lutcher defender with him in his team’s 27-8 loss last week. Last Friday marked the beginning of the toughest stretch of the Destrehan Wildcats' schedule as they fell to the Lutcher Bulldogs, the No. 5 ranked team in Class 4A, by a score of 27-8.

After quarterback Taylor Dunn left the Destrehan football team this week, sophomore Dillan Dent was thrust into the starting role and helped lead the Wildcats to a 14-12 win over John Ehret Friday night.
Wildcat running game needs to step up against blitzing Ehret

Destrehan sophomore running back Lou Donovan Wells helped fill in for an injured Kevin Smith against Karr. The Wildcat running game had success in the first half, but Destrehan couldn’t get anything going in the second. Last Friday night, the Destrehan Wildcats were looking to build upon their impressive victory against Thibodaux in week two. Unfortunately, that did not happen as the Karr Cougars had other plans. After taking an early 10-0 lead, the game slipped through the Wildcats' fingers as Karr went on to win 25-10.

The Destrehan Wildcats started fast tonight leading 10-0 in the second quarter, but miscues and the Edna Karr defense proved too much for them as they faded in the second half and fell 25-10.
