Destrehan running back Kevin Smith plows over an East St. John defender during his team’s 20-0 loss last week. Despite what was arguably their best offensive performance of the season, the Destrehan Wildcats were shutout for the fist time all year in a 20-0 loss to East St. John.

Destrehan linebackers Gary Johnson (No. 44) and Zach Agurcia (No. 54) combine on a tackle against John Ehret. The Wildcats lost the game in overtime, 20-26. It was an eerily familiar situation that the Destrehan Wildcats found themselves in on Friday against the John Ehret Patriots.

Destrehan running back Mark Trudeaux leaps ahead for first down yardage during his team’s 20-26 loss to Higgins last Friday. If anyone left the Destrehan-Higgins game at halftime on Friday, they missed a thrilling Wildcat comeback from being down 12-0 to forcing overtime.

Senior Destrehan receiver Ferman Victor makes a nice grab down the sideline in the Wildcats’ 7-28 loss to Dutchtown last Friday. The Destrehan Wildcats had the opportunity to give the second-ranked Dutchtown Griffins more than they could handle last Friday night. But two costly fumbles swung the momentum of the game and the Wildcats came away with their third loss of the season.
Destrehan offense will be tested against No. 2 Dutchtown

Destrehan running back Kevin Smith rushed for 162 yards and scored a touchdown against West Jefferson last week. Smith and the rest of the Destrehan offense will have to avoid Dutchtown safety Landon Collins this Friday. A week after falling to the fourth-ranked team in the state, the Destrehan Wildcats face an even tougher test on Friday when No. 2 Dutchtown comes to Wildcat Stadium.
