Destrehan’s defense will be tested by physical Dutchtown offense

Destrehan linebacker RaeJuan Marbley and defensive end Ed Leornard combined for a tackle in the Wildcats 55-12 win over Helen Cox. Destrehan’s defense came up big in the game, getting three turnovers that led to quick scores for the Wildcat offense. The Destrehan offense continued to make headlines after leading the Wildcats to a 55-12 demolishing of Helen Cox last week. However, the offense will face their first true test of the season when the Wildcats head to Dutchtown Friday night.
Isom throws four touchdowns in blowout over Helen Cox

Donovan Isom threw four touchdowns with 196 yards passing and 41 yards rushing. Balance was the key word Friday night in the Destrehan Wildcats’ 55-12 victory over the Helen Cox Cougars.

Ed Leonard Only a sophomore, big Destrehan defensive end Ed Leonard finished with 5 tackles, but it was his ability to rush the passer on almost every play that helped lead DHS to the win.

Donovan Isom Destrehan quarterback Donovan Isom was nearly perfect in the opener, completing 12 of his 13 passes for 255 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for a score in the DHS win.
Destrehan hopes up-tempo offense will wear down Helen Cox

Destrehan running back Will Mathews rushed for 111 yards in the Wildcats big win on Friday. The Destrehan offense couldn’t have gotten off to a better start in the season opener, scoring on all seven of their possessions in the first half in a 54-22 win over West Jefferson. Now, Wildcat head coach Stephen Robicheaux just hopes his squad’s offensive success continues when Destrehan hosts Helen Cox at 7 p.m. this Friday.
