Destrehan catches fire in second half to knock off Hahnville

Destrehan star Kirk Merritt caught fire in the second half, rushing for two long touchdowns to help the Wildcats topple the Hahnville Tigers 24-6 in Fridayís rivalry game.
Destrehan uses ground game to stomp Terrebonne in district opener

Alfred Smith returns a kickoff 55 yards to set up a Destrehan score. Destrehan running back Will Matthews ran wild against Terrebonne, scoring three touchdowns in the first half to lead the Wildcats to a 42-17 win in their district opener.

Destrehan quarterback Marquise Darensbourg and the rest of the Wildcat offense will have to be more consistent as the squad enters district play. Destrehan regroups in second half to knock off Dutchtown

Austin Dickerson had two interceptions in Destrehan's 20-10 win over Dutchtown. It wasnít always pretty, especially in the first half, but the Destrehan Wildcats regrouped in the third quarter to put away Dutchtown for a 20-10 victory on Friday.

Destrehanís Kirk Merritt caught a 38-yard touchdown pass and ran a kickoff back 85 yards to lead the Wilcats to a 48-7 win over Helen Cox. After cruising to blowout wins over West Jefferson and Helen Cox to open the season, Destrehan faces their first tough test of the year when they host the Dutchtown Griffins on Friday.
