Destrehan must slow Acadiana’s veer attack to win 5A state title

The Destrehan Wildcats are back in the state championship game for the third time in seven years. The Wildcats won state titles during their previous two appearances. The undefeated Destrehan Wildcats will try for their third state championship in seven years when they face off against Acadiana in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Saturday.

The Destrehan Wildcats made a statement Friday night by running all over East St. John in a 68-14 victory. With the win, the Wildcats advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 5A playoffs where they will face parish rival Hahnville.
