Destrehan coach credits seniors for making program contender

Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux said he knew his team would have a successful season because his players worked hard and did everything asked of them. Destrehan’s football season came to an end Saturday night with a 23-7 loss to Acadiana in the Class 5A state championship game. While the season didn’t end the way the Wildcats wanted it to, Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux was extremely proud of his squad.

The Destrehan Wildcats are back in the state championship game for the third time in seven years. The Wildcats won state titles during their previous two appearances. The undefeated Destrehan Wildcats will try for their third state championship in seven years when they face off against Acadiana in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Saturday.
