Deadline extended for Spillway cemetery plan
A conceptualized drawing of landscaping improvements and interpretive signage that could be included in a renovation to a pair of cemeteries in the Spillway. The Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for comments on its long-term management plan of two cemeteries that are located in the Bonnet Carre Spillway.

IRS warns seniors to be wary of federal tax refund scam
Claim to obtain stimulus payment
The Internal Revenue Service is warning senior citizens and other taxpayers to beware of an emerging federal tax refund scam tempting victims to file tax returns claiming fraudulent refunds. Bogus refund claims have been identified from Louisiana and at least five other states, including California, Georgia, Michigan, Alabama and Indiana.
