Jump in thefts leads to 9.7 percent crime increase
Crime in St. Charles during the second quarter of 2010 increased by 9.7 percent when compared to the same period in 2009, according to stats released by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Man charged with rape of adopted children
A 51-year-old Wisconsin man has been charged with three counts of aggravated rape after molesting three young children he adopted, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Vandals threw so much debris into the Oak Street pumping station that the drainage equipment was rendered inoperable. The vandals also spray painted areas of the station. Vandals threw railroad-side debris at the Oak Street pumping station overnight, rendering the drainage equipment inoperable.

Owner says parking was a problem
Due to space limitations at its current location, Zydeco’s is moving from Paradis to the building formerly inhabited by 90 West, which recently went out of business.
