Deadline for voter registration is Aug. 30 at the registrar of voters office in the courthouse in Hahnville. The open primary election for the St. Charles Parish school board and U. S. Congressmen will be held on Sept. 30, and the general election for both is scheduled for Nov. 7. Constitutional amendments will also be voted upon. |

Arrests • Rondell Batiste, 21, of 515 Paul Fredrick St., Luling, was arrested and charged with poss. of SCH II CDS and turn signal required in the 500 Blk. of Paul Fredrick St., Luling, on Aug. 7. Sheriff Champagne reports that the above subject was arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed the subject to be in poss. of crack cocaine.
