About Us
The St. Charles Herald-Guide was founded in 1993 as a merger of the River Parishes Guide, founded in 1969, and the St. Charles Herald, founded in 1873.
Our focus is local news affecting St. Charles Parish - everything from breaking events in government, business, schools, and sports, to the newest president of the garden club or art guild. We take pride in offering in-depth community news that cannot be found anywhere else, and strive to respond to the concerns and interests of those who live and work in the parish.
In this age of global information, we believe that community newspapers are as vital as ever, allowing a forum for people to communicate with their neighbors and remain connected, not only to each other, but to themselves.
We are a weekly newspaper, printed on Wednesday afternoons and published on Thursdays. A magazine insert appears near the beginning of each month providing an overview of upcoming events and in-depth local features based on seasonal themes. Various special sections highlight events such as graduation, the St. Charles Business Expo, and the winter holidays.
We are owned and published by Louisiana Publishing Corp, L.L.C., Allen Lottinger president. Our offices are located at 14236 Highway 90, Boutte, LA 70039.
Address correspondance to the St. Charles Herald-Guide, P.O. Box 1199, Boutte, LA 70039 or e-mail us at editorial@heraldguide.com.
